Hi all, we are thinking of doing a charity rally next year. We
would like your input and ideas for the event , such as: entertainment,
prizes, date etc.
A company came to me asking to do their
charity work for them, I decided to include the bikers, because we love
rallies and charity events. They will be providing us with all our
prizes for the event and the entrance money would go to various
charities therefore we would like the club presidents to provide us with
their charity names as all the club charities will be rewarded.
We
want to include everyone in this project, so please feel free to
contact me: You can email me at elani_alberts@yahoo.com or
stormchasers_capetown@yahoo.com or you can contact me on facebook.

Animal Anti Cruelty League wishes to thank you for your willingness to
help.
The League is not in receipt of any grants, etc, and
relies purely on donations from the public unlike other well known
organizations. Animal Anti Cruelty League have a no kill policy, this means that if an animal is
not adopted it will remain with us until it is. Animal Anti Cruelty League supply the medical
treatment and care for all the needs of their animals which we look
after. At present, the League's main work is to assist pet
owners who cannot afford to have their sick or injured animals attended
to. Sterilizations and inoculations are an integral part of the services
offered.
Medicines are also sometimes collected for sick animals
and dropped off with the owners, where we not only assist in the
dispensation thereof, but also educate them on the correct care and
protection of their pets in the future.
School visits
are regularly conducted, with the intent to educate the youth of today,
on the principles of animal welfare and the care and protection of their
pets; which knowledge will hopefully be taken forward, when they become
the leaders of tomorrow.
On the 18^th of October we are
organising a breakfast run which will end at Collegians in Boshoff
Street, Pietermaritzburg. There will be food on sale as well as a garage
sale of the items that have been donated to the league over the year.
Everything collected will go towards caring for our animals over the
December - March period which we find the hardest to find donations and
food etc.
Thanks again for your help.

COUPLE who are all set to cycle the south cape of Africa are desperately
seeking money after their original sponsors pulled out.
Kerry Eastman
and Greg Wilson, who live in Padgate, are due to begin their epic bike ride
on October 17 but they need to raise £3,000 before then.
If they do not
raise the money, they will be forced to back out and will be left to foot
the £7,000 cancellation fee themselves.
They found themselves plunged
into the predicament after sponsors pulled out.
But the two are still
hoping to complete their 400km ride from Port Lisbon to Cape Town while
raising money for WaterAid.
Kerry, a legal assistant at United Utilities
who is originally from South Africa, became involved in the charity eight
years ago when she helped co-ordinate its annual ball.
WaterAid
provides African and Asian communities with access to clean, safe water and
teaches good sanitation and hygiene.
all members in the Cape Town area. I have had a request from Liesel
Ellman of Rengadez that all clubs in the Cape Town area please contact
her on lieseltellman@gmail.com to obtain your contact details as she
want to extend an invitation to you to attend their opening. There you
have an excuse for another party.

Hi Guys,
Please be on the look-out for a green and silver MAX Helmet. Model No. MAX-603,
complete with; 1. Visor, 2. Mouth Vent, 3. Shell., 4. Impact Absorbent Liner, 5.
Comfort Pad, 6. Side Plate, 7. Rear Vent, 8. Chin Strap. Skunky also wrote his
name in the inside lining and stuck a “Born to Ride" sticker on the back of the
helmet. It means a lot to Skunky as he had won this helmet in a lucky draw at
the Foreighner's Rally. If any body can help, they can call Skunky (JJ from the
SABRES) on 072 139 1577. The helmet was stolen on Wednesday, 24 September 2008
and we suspect the culprit who stole it is in the Newlands Area. All your help
will be greatly appreciated.

Help: Cut and Copy this page and email it to everyone
In
the past there has been a thousands of anti crime march this and anti crime ride
that. What value did that have?. Nothing, zilch, zero. For the first time ever
something tangible to assist in combating crime came around and it took a 17
year old boy with vision to come up with an idea.
Mirco
van Eck will sadly never see his dream realised as his was tragically killed on
his motorbike by a drunk driver in August 2007. It was Mirco's vision to have an
event to generate funds to mobilise the South African Police and create the SAPS
scooter squad. The idea behind his vision was to provide the SAPS with scooters
to increase visible policing, mobility at a very cost effective and allow police
to pursue criminals where four wheel vehicles cant go.
BRILLIANT
Mirco's
was at his young age himself a victim of crime when he was robbed at knife point
at a supposedly safe shopping center. Sadly without your support and those of
businesses Mirco's dream of providing us with a safer environment will never
happen.
On 24
September 2008 we are to taking the first steps in a concerted effort to ease
the crime stress in our lives. At the launch of Mirco's Mile two scooters will
be handed over to the police.
We
need each and every one of you to attend the event held at Hume Park. A small
entry fee (children under 12 free) will assist us to generate funds to purchase
the next batch of scooters.
You
do not need to be a biker to attend so please come and join us for a day of fun.
There will be bars, live entertainment, music food stalls
etc.
We
invite anybody with a two wheel vehicle and especially scooters to join us for
the bike ride from the Lighthouses Boardwalk Complex to Hume
Park.
Other
than your attendance we ask nothing more of you than the humble request to
forward this email to everybody on your mailing
list.
Please
help us in realising Mirco's dream, make his parents proud and create a safer
society.
Should
you require any further information please do not hesitate to phone Ferdi van
Eck on 072 305 1241 or Neill on 082 767 3117.
May
you be blessed for your part herein.

Help: Request for Assistance: Biker Lifestyle Magazine
This
is something that we don’t do often. We did it a couple of years ago
for the Cerebral Palsy Association and we helped raise funds for
Adriana for her bone marrow cancer but unfortunately we lost her. For
us this one is a little bit closer to home, Glenice Bridges has been
with Biker Lifestyle Magazine for 6 years and her hubby Guy who helps
us out with road tests, photographs and anything else we ask him to do
have a young son called Grant who is 11 years old.
The
young guy fell off his bicycle, breaking his right arm, after the
doctors had put pins in his shoulder, they discovered a tumour in his
arm and unfortunately he was diagnosed with cancer. After 3 sessions of
chemo, specialist recommended amputation of his right arm but with the
help from Charl Beukes from the Amputee club who managed to arrange an
urgent appointment with a specialist in
Cape Town
, young Grant has got another CHANCE of keeping his arm. A decision was made in
Cape Town
by the specialist to do a bone replacement instead of amputation.
I
know there have been a lot of well wishes, prayers and thoughts from a
lot of people out there, we really do appreciate it all, but the people
on this page made it possible for us to get that important second
opinion. So to you I say thank you very much.
The Bridges family will be flying down to
Cape Townon Thursday
8th May and hopefully the operation will take place on Friday 9th May.
We trust and pray that the operation will be a success.
The starting price for this procedure is anything from R150 000.00 to R350 000.00.
We
are hoping that the medical aid will carry some of these costs but
right now we don’t know. You will notice that there are banking
details and I’ve taken it upon myself to try and raise anything so this
young chap could benefit. I don’t know what to ask, but if you find it
in your hearts, it would be greatly appreciated and it would definitely
go to a very good cause. If you’d like to discuss anything with me, or
have any suggestions please contact me on:
Tel: 016-362-4887/362-4367/4612 or mail me at: dudley@bikerlifestyle.co.za
