Get them motors runnin' and bundle up tight because Sunday is the day of
Star Motoring Snowball Run, an annual winter charity ride to collect
blankets for the needy.

All bikers are welcome so whether you own a superbike, cruiser, scooter,
adventure bike or anything in between, join us for the most chilled-out
breakfast run of the year. It's for a great cause, The Star's Operation
Snowball, and it also happens to be a great jol.

The day will start at 7am at Kyalami Motorcycles, the bike shop of
Snowball Run organiser Kevin Hellyer, in the Kyalami shopping centre
about 500m south of the entrance to the race circuit (just follow all
the other bikes if you're not sure)

That will be the opportunity to hand in your
blanket (or R50 donation) and receive your Snowball Run 2010 badge, then
enjoy some coffee and rusks before a mass ride departs for Chameleon
Village at Hartebeespoort dam at 9am.

A lekker line-up of entertainment is planned. Dave Abbott and his Fender
Stratocaster will keep the house a-rocking while bikers enjoy breakfast
and legendary funnyman Mel Miller will tell the jokes.

Also on the menu is the ever-popular Miss Snowball Run contest (so
ladies dress up in your sexiest biker gear) and there will be a draw for
prizes including a Big Boy Revival 150 scooter worth R8450 and a TomTom
Rider motorcycle satnav that retails for R7000.

Other prizes include motorcycle gear sponsored by Full Throttle and meal
vouchers from Brazenhead

MORE ON THE PRIZES

The Big Boy Revival 150 is a scooter with sexy retro looks that
lets you commute in real style. Its 150cc engine takes it to a top speed
of 90km/h, which is more than enough to zip briskly through traffic,
while the convenient CVT means there are no gears to worry about.

The 150 Revival has electric start (with kick start as back-up) and
weighs only 93kg. Its claimed fuel consumption of only 2.9 litres per
100km enables a range of as much as 170km from the five-litre tank. It
comes with a one-year or 10 000km warranty. - INL Motoring

The TomTom Rider is an all-in-one navigation solution for use on
motorbikes. It comes pre-installed with Map Share - TomTom's unique map
improvement technology - and Tele Atlas maps of Southern African and
includes trip statistics such as average and maximum speeds per journey,
total kilometres travelled and distance from home.

Also included is a new Cardo Bluetooth headset for in-helmet spoken
instructions with noise cancellation to ensure that bikers can hear
directions and phone calls with clarity.

It comes with a mount that will fit almost any motorcycle.
